ok..this is insanity! the person who decided to call their wife or husband "pumpkin" is a maniac...the most mind boggling part is that there must have been a whole group of maniacs calling their wives shit like "tuts" otherwise it wouldn't be a tradition nowadays. i don't know...maybe I'm the crazy one, but it just seems plain silly to say "hi babycakes" when you can say "wasup playbeezy you be looking amazin for a big azian"....instead.
so my question is: are terms of endearment crazy or cute??

in private - "yes"
in public - "no"
though i do make her address me as "chocolate thunder" when she pages me over the store's loudspeakers.....
Totally agree with both comments above. NEVER in public, and not until you're comfortable enough to handle a possible laugh-in-your-face reaction to a pet name.
That being said ... they can be fun especially if you try and one-up each other with the craziness.
I just want to say that i like to flip the script and turn the cuteness in a pet name to toughness. So for the record my pet name is magnum steel and my girl's is tank lord. pretty sweet huh?
